Its OK Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

So I know I've been MIA from my blog lately, but that's because it has been one of those weeks where I literally had no time for anything other than school work, church related things, and then I was in the bed sick. So I have good reason! However, I am back in action! I wouldn't say I'm a hundred percent yet, but I'm getting there, thank God! And just in time for Its OK Thursday! Here it goes! :)

It's OK....

That I totally broke down once this week... okay three times, but its still OK

That I have no clue how I feel I did on my Macro test... it could go either way

That I literally crammed for said Macro test an hour and a half before I had to take it

That I sometimes make the biggest idiot out of myself and have to pry my foot from where it is lodged down my throat

That there are times I still feel awkward around people I've known for forever

That I'm having a hard time with a certain person who is only hurting a person I care about

That there are things I've said that I wish I could take back

That I have those moments in life where I dread getting up in the morning and facing the day

Hope all you guys have a blessed Thursday! :)

Feel Good Pills! ;)

So, although it's Friday, I've been having a crummy day. It's one of those days where if I had a rock to climb under, I'd so do it and stay there until it all got better. However, I, unfortunately, do not have that choice. I have to have money to live and bills to pay, so I can't leave work and find said rock nor will my problems disappear. The fact that I'm having to work on study guides and research paper crapola, isn't making me feel any better. Therefore, I've decided to nip the schoolwork in the bud for a moment, and post some random things I've been loving and some things I found that make me smile!!!

First thing I've been loving... is my Naked 1 Palette! I know that in general the hype about this palette is over, especially given the second version is out. However, I don't have the second and this one has come so in handy since I've started going to the gym in the mornings to work out. I throw this in my makeup bag and I have all the eyeshadows I need! My favorite combonation has been: Sin and Virgin all over the lid with Naked and Buck in the crease! Then I take hustle and put in on the lower lashline! And Voila!

I found this Pumpkin cake on Pinterest and totally fell in love with it! I love everything fall, and the fact that tomorrow is the very first day has me praying for cooler weather and dying to go shopping for Fall decor for my house. As soon as I seen this cake I text my Memaw and told her I found something we need to bake. She loves to bake things, and I enjoy it when I have the time. So I thought this would be a great idea to eat of course, but to spend some quality time together as well!!

I found this on pinterest as well and thought it was so stinking cute. My sister started this owl fetish that has infected me! Anything owl, and we are dying to get it! As soon as I seen it I thought of her and it made me smile! :)
(My sister, Rachel just got a blog... check her out!! http://cupcakesandhorseshoes.blogspot.com/)

Another "pintresting" idea! I found this on pintrest in the early July days and thought, "what the hey! I'll give it a try". I mean it couldn't actually hurt, giving its only three ingredients; witchhazel (very small amount), lemon juice, and water. Sooo.... I gave it a try and I LOVED it! My cheeks had patchy red marks from acne scarring that I felt like wouldn't fade even a little bit. I was also breaking out with pimples daily. It was ridiculous! Now i'm not telling you that I'm no longer breaking out or have acne scarring. I still have both. However, I believe that I finally found a skinecare routine, and with a big help from this Brightening toner, that it helped fade those acne scars and also helps me not to break out as often as I was. Some days, if I don't have a lot of time in the morning, I'll just rince my face, swipe this on with a cotton ball, then moisturize and be on my way! (I found it works better for me if I leave it in the fridge where it stays cool!)

Last, but definitely not least, Is the homemade scrub/exfoliator that I make for my face! Honey and Sugar (or brown sugar). Honestly, I quit buying exfoliators and just started using this. I never found a store-bought exfoliator that worked well on my skin or exfoliated like I wanted to. I seen a recipe for this one day on the internet, tried it, and totally fell in love. It is the best exfoliator minus all the extra chemicals and additives. It seriously makes your skin fell amazing. I have some serious oily/combination skin (i'm oily all over, but get dry around my nose and somtimes my mouth), and it works great on my skin. It makes my face feel so soft! I usually use this right after I take my makeup off with a makeup wipe and then I'll go in with my cleanser (Cetaphil), with my olay pro X. I exfoliate with this 1-2 times a week. Then, about once every few weeks, I'll kick it up a notch and add in just a tiny pit of extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice!! It's amazing stuff and you know what you are putting on your face!

Well that's it for now! I already feel better talking about these things! Hope you guys have a great weekend!!!!

Can we say.... It's OK?

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK....

...That I'm horrible at remembering names. I'm great with faces, but a dunce with names.

... That I totally got a grilled chicken sandwhich meal, fries and all,  from Chic-Fil-A yesterday (my absolutely favorite place to eat)... it was the first time I ate fast food the entire week!

...That I still get nervous when I get up to sing in church. I've been singing since... forever. And I still have times where my throat goes dry and my knees knock together

...That I feel totally inadequate in so many areas. I just want there to be ONE thing that I'm super good at and confident in.

...That I feel like an old woman since I threw my back out. I'm having to make sure I'm stretching my back out after workouts or I walk around like Quasimoto LOL (If you don't know who that is he is the Hunchback of Notre-Dam)

...That I feel silly when I have so many things to do, but when I go to make out my goals for the day on a piece of paper my mind completely goes blank! (I'm like...really?)

...That I don't have the best memory. I can't recall every detail vividly, and some days I have to really think about what I did the day before... *sigh*

Hope all you guys have a blessed Thursday! :)

Timing is Everything....

Source: marthastewart.com via Priscila on Pinterest

Lately, I 've been feeling so overwhelmed. There have been so many changes recently (not that they are bad changes), but I've still felt as if it has me running in a million directions at the same time. I actually thought that cutting myself back to taking only two classes at my local university would make things a little less stressful, but of course, I would end up taking two classes that will kick my tail all on their own. My husband and I have also taken over a young adult class (which I'm so excited about), but it also means making time to prepare for it: studying, praying, researching ideas, and communicating with each ther. Then their are the random extras such as skate nights, bible studies, visits to grandparents and great aunts, birthdays, grocery shopping, etc. There is worship practice an hour before each service (I'm so thankful for our worship leader and our worship team. They are an amazing group). Of course, I have to make time for homework and studying and preparing for class. Then on top of all of that, there are the lifestyle changes my husband and I have started. For example, making sure we are working out at least three times a week. There is no time in the afternoons to do this. Therefore, that means a 5 a.m alarm so we can be at the gym no later than six, and make sure we get Wade (my hubby) to work by 7:30.

Obviously we have been having slam-packed days... So now I need to learn how to organize and prioritize better. I've always tried to keep a personal calendar handy in my purse for school and such, but it mostly contained vague homework due dates and unecessary church times. I've been going to church for years, but for some reason I still pencil it in ha-ha! Lately, I've realized that I need to start getting a little more detailed in my scheduling, and I've also decided I need to start making goals for each day. This way, I will get those important things done on the days they need to be done, and maybe even get my secondary and maybe (being hopeful) my post secondary goals done. So I decided to look up ways to prioritize, and begin applying it my life (or at least attempting to). I figured if I can make myself get up at 5 a.m three days a week (Extremely difficult for someone who use to believe getting up that early was a sin), then I can start scheduling my time a little more proficiently.

To start off on learning a better way to prioritize I went to none other than...GOOGLE! If I ever want to learn something or research something, Google is my best friend LOL. So onto google I went and began looking up ways to better organize my time. I came across this website that mentioned prioritizing your life and making goals for yourself. Their recommendation. Make A, B, and C goals for yourself each day, A being the most importat and C being those things you would like to do, but it isn't mandatory to get done today. The idea is to be realistic. Have yourself three A goals, two B goals and one C goal. Go ahead and tell yourself that all of these are not set in stone and leave your goals flexible. You want to have times for those little extra things like cooking, dusting, etc. that isn't on your list. For example, this is what my goals looked like the first day I put this into action...

A
. -Read my Bible
 -Work on Method's notes
-Finish Macro-Economics Homework

B
-Look up games for Fall Festival
-Ideas for Young Adults class

C
-Brown Hamburger meat for dinner tomorrow night

Using this method I got all three of my A goals accomplished and one of my B goals. To me that was a good bit. And it was nice because I had skate night on that very day, so I wasn't rushed to finish up my homework or whatever before I left or once I got home (which wasn't until after nine o'clock that night). I definitely want to continue to do this. It has been helping me the last few days get things accomplished that normally I would have put off until the last second and then would have been even more stressed out. If you are feeling overwhelmed, make you a few set of goals that you ABSOLUTELY WANT to get done that specific day and a few secondary goals and one optional goal. This will definitely help. Crossing off the goals on that piece of paper is my favorite part and so very rewarding!

It's OK Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK....

That I nearly died today at the gym. I mean, I'm not sure if ambulances are called to the gym on a regular basis, but it nearly happened today

That my arms are shaking from working them out this morning... that has to mean it's working, right?

That I'm currently in love with honey... I swear it is almost a cure all!

That today is going to be one of those days where I will have to force my eyes to stay open

That I have a suitcase for a purse. I can't help it! I feel like I need to have everything that I think I might need just in case ;D

That I will leave my textbook open for hours and will have only read a few paragraphs

That I I nearly collide with someone EVERY TIME I go to open the bathroom door on campus or at work...  (awkward)

That I'm not an extreme health nut. It' just too expensive to eat healthy all the time, and really life is too short for that kind of torture. I need balance, healthy and junk LOL (Kudos to all of you who manage it)

Hope all you guys have a blessed Thursday! :)

Half-Way Wednesday!

Photobucket

Hello everyone! I feel like it has been forever since I've gotten the chance to post on my blog. Things have been so busy and I've had that oh so much fun stuff called "homework" and "housework" and "studying" to do. Yuck! The weekend was filled with a date with my husband, trying to get laundry done before visiting my sister, then Church Sunday. It was a great weekend, but definitely not long enough. Of course, it never is long enough. This week has definitely thrown some curve balls my way, however I'm still smiling and thankful for all that God does for me, my family, my friends, and my church. If you have had some curve balls, don't worry. Today is a new day... Wedenesday to be exact! This means that you only have two more days (after today) and you are weekend free! So be encouraged, keep that beautiful smile on, and remember that things may not always be how you want them, but they could always be worse! Now onto my Half-Way Wednesday questionnaire...

What has been the best part of your week so far?
  • My husband and I going to the gym. I'm so proud of us! We have set a goal to go to the gym early before work at least three times a week. This is day two of this week, and I'm feeling pretty good!

What has been your funniest moment?
  • Funniest moment was playing dominos with my sister, brother-in-law, and mom. They crack me up! Darrell (BIL) thinks we make up rules as we go...

What are you looking forward to?
  • Sleeping in... I am determined that I will sleep in until at least 9 am this weekend! :0)

Wednesday Wishful Thinking...?
  • That there was no such thing as a research paper, then I wouldn't be having to come up with research questions.

Today... It's OK

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK......

That I have no use for my abs on a day to day basis, and they hurt now that I've used them for only two days

That I look like the biggest idiot at the gym

That I totally flopped my quiz yesterday because I wasn't thinking in the least

That I can read an entire book in the matter of a day if it has caught my complete attention

That I'm still learning how to cook and get intimidated by trying to cook new things

That I absolutely hate to fail at anything and look like a fool.

That I am competitive, but in a healthy way

That I can be a great loser (losing a hand of cards or words with friends isn't the end of the world)

That things don't always go as I had planned them to

That wearing a ponytail with my short hair isn't the best look for me :P

Hope all you guys have a blessed Thursday! :)

Half-Way Wednesday!

What has been the best part of your week so far?
  • Labor Day... I didn't really do anything all day except watch an exceptionally good baby while spending time with my two best friends (My mommy and sister)

What has been your funniest moment?
  • Funniest moment was Sunday when the adult sunday school teacher from our church (someone who has known our family for forever), asked if he could call me Rachel (my sister's name) in the middle of his lesson because it was easier for him to remember... (What a nut!)

What are you looking forward to?
  • At this moment in time there is absolutely nothing planned for this weekend, which I am looking forward too! :)

Wednesday Wishful Thinking...?
  • That this article for my methods class would disapper and I wouldn't have to read it

Where Has All the Time Gone...??

Is it just me or does it seem as if time is in hyperspeed? Not as in each day goes by super fast, but it feels like the day went by and you still didn't get to all of the things you wanted to accomplish for that day. 9 p.m. hits and I'm trying to figure out how in the world I even thought I could get all of this mess done in one day. Hence, the reason I was up at 5 o'clock this morning...

My husband and I want to get to where we are working out AT LEAST  a couple of times a week. However, we have absolutely no time during the evenings after work to do it. Usually we have somewhere to be or something to do or we are so exhausted that we just want to go home since we have one evening to do that. That being the case, we've decided that the only time we can work out consistently every week is in the mornings.

It really goes against my nature to get up at anytime before 8 a.m. I am NOT a morning person in the least. However, there are times in life where you are required to do things you don't like. My husband and I are riding together in my car to work every morning to save gas. Since I got to the University where he works, I ride in with him, go to class, then go to work. We get off at the same time, so I go and pick him up once 4:30 rolls around. So I already get up at 6 a.m. to drop him off at work at 7:30 and get to my work by 8 a.m.

However, now that we have decided that the mornings are the best time for us to work out, that means T-minus one more hour of sleep... So at 5 o'clock this morning I was up putting on some workout clothes and was heading to the gym by 5:30...

I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought. Once I got there it was easy to fall into the cardio and weight-lifting. By the time we left I felt pretty awake. Now lets just see what happens when I get to class and have to listen to my professor talk about Macro-economics! #snoozefest!
